Club La Vida NOT Loco

In Review on September 7, 2010 at 7:13 pm

If you enjoy Caribbean atmospheres with a hint of Hip Hop you must check out Club La Vida in Hollywood, California on a Sunday night.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EOTM (Press Release)Sep 07, 2010 – EOTM was in the house for Jamaican Gold’s annual Labor Day Bash inside La Vida on September 5th with special guest Chi Ching Ching.

To be perfectly honest I wasn’t too enthused on going to another Hollywood Club on a Saturday night. Why? Well it’s the long lines and the infamous red rope that had me squirming. I didn’t know how long my crew and I would be standing in the media line waiting on the promoter that had invited us out. However, it appears club owners and promoters have it figured out at La Vida because we were inside within ten minutes.

The venue has a beautifully lit courtyard with large fire pits decorated with colorful rock coals that do wonders on a chilly night.

Between her rugged mountains and sun drenched beaches, emerald jungles and impossibly blue Caribbean waters, the island of Jamaica is both a study in contrasts and a living lesson in geography as was La Vida and our Jamaican Gold experience.

We were immediately taken in by the open layout and bars, three inside and one outside. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing with a variety of music playing on a beautiful white plaster arched courtyard with the nostalgia of a Montego Bay. Complete with shade, sun and fire if weather calls for it. Couches and lounge chairs made outside seating even more appealing.  There was complementary, colorful and delicious chips and salsa. The Restaurant serves authentic Mexican which our selections were delicious. The shrimp and calamari was delicious. Truly, the only thing missing was the white sand and if I may add…. Taye Diggs.

If you enjoy the soul of Jamaican resort type atmospheres, authentic Mexican and the best of reggae with a hint of hip hop connect with Jamaican Gold today.

The Craver Experience…..

In Clients and Events on July 19, 2010 at 7:00 am

Symphony with a beat….

DJ Craver will put you in a trance with his symphony like performances that promises to tell a story and paint a picture like none you’ve ever seen or heard. Offering trance fans a new love for the genre.

________________________________________________________________________________________

Los Angeles, CA (EOTM PR) July 19, 2010 – California nightlife has never been the same since Thomas Craver aka DJ Craver hit the trance scene. With his melodic, dramatic, orchestra like style, Craver is one of the hottest names in trance music today. Voted #970 and quickly climbing on djlist.com, which ranks over 500,000 DJ’s worldwide. DJ Craver is without a doubt one to be reckoned with.

Craver is set to perform at the 3rd Annual Kosmic Festival on Saturday August 28th. He will also be performing live for EOTM Media Groups new events taking Southern California by storm, called Get in the Game which will be held in Redlands, California on Wednesday July 28th.

When asked how he found his self in the trance genre, he responded very matter of factly, “I was drawn to it. Trance is symphony with a great beat. While performing I feel the need to spread my wings and fly high. I’m in the zone and the beautiful thing about that is I take the crowd along for the ride”.

After listening to his music and watching him perform at a festival in El Monte, California on July 3rd I totally agreed with him. The live experience was as if he was almost treating sound as a component of form, stretching out textures until they took on a value of their own.

Event goers can expect this same style, energy and euphoria at the Get in the Game event as well as the Kosmic Festival.

Lil Zane honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

In Clients and Events on July 18, 2010 at 7:33 pm

The Rising Star Music Awards was a royal affair: Honoring Rapper/Business Owner Lil Zane.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EOTM (Press Release)Jul 18, 2010 – Lil Zane was celebrated on yesterday when the Rising Star Music Awards gave him the Lifetime Achievement Award. Zane was not scheduled to perform, just to come, look royal as only he knows how and accept his award. He did all of that with grace and style, giving a speech that most definitely moved the audience.

A rising star performer by the name of “It’s Mr. J Luv”, had second thoughts on Zane not performing. He pulled the surprised star on stage for a exciting, energy filled performance.  That may have been enough to alert Zane’s fans that he was back and in full effect because the audience went wild and they proved it with a standing ovation.

When Lil Zane accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award he was charming and articulate. He shared some wise advice to artists looking to break into the industry. “Never stop, stay humble, be true to you and make sure you give back to your community, this is key”. He also thanked his fans and shared how he has never been in jail or in any kind of trouble. “You don’t have to be a criminal to make your mark in music, stay grounded, focused and surround yourself with a great team, that’s very important, ” Zane said.

The annual event was held at The Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood, California and was hosted by Miss Tami and Michael James.

Indie Artists Jump on the EOTM Brand Wagon

In Branding on March 16, 2010 at 3:21 am

EOTM understands what it takes to promote your music/image successfully. We have done it for years, promoting ourselves!! Allow us to customize a package to represent your music with a professional image!

EOTM Radio is best known for giving indie artists a means to highlight their music to a global audience. Most of the artists EOTM features sells their music primarily by touring, through their websites and EOTM Radio.

EOTM has recognized that corporate executives are increasingly looking for new sounds to help create an image for a brand, whether it’s a product, a store or a show. It could be music from an emerging artist, or something old and hip, whatever it is, it is likely to be cheaper than the high price of licensing a hit song from a major record label.

The result is that corporate music buyers are changing the economics of being an independent musician. The once-standard dream of a record deal and radio play is giving way to the reality of restaurants, retailers and automakers scouring the industry for little-known music that can lend mood and edge to marketing campaigns.

New artists have realized that the big labels really are not doing the job anymore, and if [the artists] can just get their music out, people will stumble onto it and then the buzz starts.

Carla Barnes, president of EOTM Radio & Media, said licensing represents “a growing and significant portion of any indie label’s revenue portfolio.” Selling music to advertisers used to be taboo among many sellout-conscious artists, but today “these commercial branding opportunities are being viewed much more positively,” she said.

While there is no comprehensive data to show how much money such artists are making from licensing, EOTM said it can be seen in any small music label’s revenue stream.

Top 10 Tips for Unsigned Artists

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKmIY7FmyX4

As an unsigned artist, publicity is a huge driving force when you’re looking at success in the music industry. Although it’s definitely beneficial to retain a publicist once you have your music career in gear, you can still manage to create a little buzz on your own in the meantime. Below are the top ten tips for generating your own publicity as a music artist.

  1. Make sure you have a press kit that includes a well-written bio, an 8X10 photo, CD and contact info.
  2. Go local. Local press is by far the easiest press to get. Let them know your story and send in a CD. Shoot for the music editor or columnist and if they don’t have one assigned specifically, contact the entertainment editor.
  3. Social networking sites are all about music these days. For example, Myspace and Facebook’s  reach is incredible for gaining new fans. Where else can you find people to listen to your music in the convenience of their own home? Make sure you are updating your music, adding friends, keeping them all posted, and updating the tour dates.
  4. Internet radio is a great way to share your music with the masses. You don’t have to approach the big ones—you can see success with air play on smaller stations as well. Send in your mp3’s to local DJs and look up college radio shows nationally and see if they’ll spin your music. EOTM radio is picking up these days too… Queensofinternetradio.com is a great option for the indie artist it doesn’t cost much and it gets your music heard.
  5. Music licensing is a great way to make money and get publicity. Try contacting some music supervisors on TV shows for a start. Send them an inquiry with your information and a link to your music. If you get placed, you can use it for press—and it becomes a story!
  6. Music websites and e-zines are always looking for music to review. Look up their websites and send emails to their editors. Tell them why you’re a fit for their magazine and ask if you can send in a CD. Again, try to make contact first… sending in a random package may be useless.
  7. Youtube.com outlets to share your music. Try to do something charismatic and original. Reaching out to people online can do wonders. Create a music video, a video blog, sing an acoustic set, take a stab at some comedy– anything… Just remember, first impressions are everything.
  8. Be philanthropic. Charity does wonders for publicity outreach. Find something you believe in and offer to play at their event or donate proceeds to their cause. Not only does it get you out there and give you a story angle… but it feels good to help out.
  9. Send your CDs to appropriate magazines for your music’s genre. Make sure you call ahead and find out the right contact, unsolicited packages get lost in the shuffle. A good rule of thumb is to look up specific writers you feel would enjoy your music and find out how to reach them.
  10. Try to book shows in different towns, that way you can easily label the cluster of shows as a tour and contact local newspapers and radio stations and offer them merch in exchange for promotions/articles.

Note that PR is about being smart and creative. It’s about finding a reason for people to care about you and your music. Sure, great music and a good look are helpful, but you also need to reach out to the public and come up with stories. Think outside of the box and you’ll really benefit from the results in no time!

In an effort to help the Indie Artist be it Music, Entertainment, etc. EOTM will be airing a show on this very subject matter November 9th @ 7pm est. Our studio lines will be open for artists to call in and speak with our PR reps. We look forwarding to helping increase your network and inturn increasing your networth. Save this number (718-664-6543) and we will hear you on November 9th @ 7pm est.
