Knowing there would be disbelievers, the U.S. says it used convincing means to confirm Osama bin Laden’s identity during and after the firefight that killed him.
Already, those questions are spreading all over the world. In the absence of photos and with his body given up to the sea, many people do not want to believe that Osam Bin Laden is really dead.

Greg Mortenson responds to ’60 Minutes’ questions about his ‘Three Cups of Tea’ story —
Bestselling author Greg Mortenson has issued a written response to a “60 Minutes” report calling into question his philanthropic practices and his experiences in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Mortenson chronicled those experiences in the books “Three Cups of Tea” and “Stones Into Schools” and leads the Central Asia Institute, an international charity that supports schools in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Steve Kroft’s “60 Minutes” report cited accounts that contradicted essential parts of Mortenson’s story, and calls into question the way funds are allocated by the charity. The report, which aired Sunday night, is embedded above; “60 Minutes” posted Mortenson’s response on its website. The following is from that statement.
60 Minutes’ question: Did you really stumble into Korphe after failing to summit K2? The two porters who accompanied you on your journey down from K2 have told us you did not. We have three other sources that support the porters’ accounts. The evidence suggests that you did not step foot in Korphe until a year later.
Greg Mortenson: Yes, I first visited Korphe village, Braldu valley, Baltistan, Pakistan, after failing to summit K2 in 1993, and met Haji Ali, a long time dear mentor and friend. My second visit to Korphe was in 1994. I made two visits to Korphe in 1995, the year we built the bridge over the Braldu River. And I again made two visits to Korphe in 1996, the year we built the Korphe School.
Mortenson further told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, “The time about our final days on K2 and ongoing journey to Korphe village and Skardu is a compressed version of events that took place in the fall of 1993.” He also told the paper, “As the co-author of the book, along with David Oliver Relin, I am responsible for the content in the book. There were many people involved in the story and also those who produced the manuscript. What was done was to simplify the sequence of events for the purposes of telling what was, at times, a complicated story.”
Mortenson’s written response continued:
It is important to know that Balti people have a completely different notion about time. Even the Balti language — an archaic dialect of Tibetan — has only a vague concept of tenses and time. For example, “now” can mean immediately or sometime over the course of a whole long season. The concept of past and future is rarely of concern. Often tenses are left out of discussion, although everyone knows what is implied. And if a person is a day or a week late or early it doesn’t matter. The Balti consider the western notion of time quite amusing.
Language and perceptions of time seem to be coming into some kind of conflict. In his written statement, Mortenson looks to language, and an underlying difference in worldview, to blame for accounts that contradict his own. That’s the same position he takes when responding to the television show’s next question.
Question: Were you kidnapped for eight days by the Taliban in Waziristan in 1996? Three of the men in the photo you published in “Stones Into Schools” deny that they kidnapped you and say they are not Taliban. We have two other sources of information that support their account.
Mortenson: Yes, I was detained for eight days in Waziristan in 1996. It was against my will, and my passport and money were taken from me. I was not mistreated or harmed, but I was also not allowed to leave. A blanket was put over my head any time I was moved by vehicle. A “Talib” means student in Arabic, and, yes, there were Taliban in the region. Waziristan is an area where tribal factions and clan ties run deep. Some people are Taliban, some are not, and affiliations change overnight often on a whim. The Pathan people of Waziristan are proud people who I greatly admire. In speaking to American audiences, I often talk about my admiration for their concepts of Pashtunwali, their unwritten code of honor and conduct, and Nenawastay, hospitality.

When first presented with the opportunity of covering Dr Malachi Z York’s story, seven years after he was sentencedto 135 years in prison, I honestly did not want to have any part of it.York was convictedon three counts of transporting minors in interstate commerce for the purpose of criminal sexual activity, one count of travel in interstate commerce with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity with minors and three counts of structuring cash transactions. I can remember watching many media outlets covering the story, reporting him to be yet another crazy cult leader exploiting its members sexually and financially.
I decided to entertain the idea of the interview considering the source, andin researching discovered areas of the reports that did not add up, which were reportedby “reliable media outlets.” I have always believedas a responsible member of the media weare to present all facts, favorable and unfavorable. Not doing this will almost always sway the reader and in turn start a ripple effect of disaster, i.e. wrongful conviction, death, etc. I find it to be quite disturbing when news channels such as Fox News which asserts to be fair and balanced reports in this way.
In speaking with Hatshaep, a inside source of the Nuwabians Worldwide, she shared an interesting perspective, fromthe inside out. “This case is politically motivated and always has been, many victims in this case have recanted and all this is documented. The FBI made them say these lies under oath.” Hatshaep went on to explain how this case started with the zoning laws and how the city, local and state officials were against the Nuwabians resurrecting desolate land into an Egyptian Theme Park. This was very tricky even for the government officials because theoretically they could not charge Malachi with a crime whereas there was no crime committed in terms of zoning, which was the initial complaint.Hatshaep went on to give firsthand knowledge of the raid whereas 100 officers raided the Nuwabian Compound with guns and body bags, days after Dr York and his partner were arrested.

During his 2003 trial Dr. Malachi Z York with hopes of saving his co defendants, himself, family and his followers from anymore pain and humiliation he took a plea deal that was offered by the prosecution. This proposed plea would release his co defendants and would sentence him to 15 years in prison with 2 years of supervised probation, he took the plea and after seeing where the trial was headed he withdrew his guilty plea and chose to stand trial on federal charges, where he ultimately lost.
Many of York’s supporters believe the plea bargain was a ploy plotted by government officials to make him out to be the sex crazed cult leader that pleaded guilty of his own accord which was shown as such in every form of media imaginable.
Almost seven years after Dr York was sentencedit is important to report that besides his convictions, whichhe vehemently denies, he is also well-known for his innumerable philanthropic activities and is a respected teacher loved by hundreds of thousands.
Prior to his tenure as a “cult leader”, Dr. York was a musician and member of the Black Panther Party. In 1970 he embraced his own version of Islam, organized a cult called Ansaru Allah Community. The group transformed its ideology and changed names numerous times from Ansaar Pure Sufi, to the Nubian Islamic Hebrews to Nuwaubians. Tensions developed between York and the larger Black Muslim sects and he eventually took his group out of New York City and moved south where they eventually established the 440 acre compound in Putnam County, Georgia. Patterning their new community after a Hollywood caricature of ancient Egypt, the complex contained grand gates and pyramids.
Please note *** I am in no way saying I believe in Dr York’s innocence or guilt, but I do believe in government conspiracies, cover ups, politically motivated cases, etc. and EOTM has always been an open forum to discuss and gain mainstream media attentions in cases as such.
