Mariah Carey announces names of her twins on Twitter

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have named their twins Monroe and Moroccan, no joke. Monroe is the girl, named after Mariah’s fave Marilyn, and Moroccan was named after the Moroccan-inspired decor of the room where Cannon proposed Carey’s hand in marriage. How sweet, I think.

Catching the Twitter Craze – How to Jump on the Bandwagon

Twitter is quickly leading the way in the social media world. It’s a great way of connecting with other people who share your interests or who might be interested in what you have to say. Something even greater than facebook  has happened and if you’re not part of it, you’re missing out. The new trend I’m referring to is Twitter.

Twitter, is a free service and is a combination of a microblogging tool and a social networking site. Twitter is a fantastic way to get more traffic to your blog and build a relationship with your readership.

Twitter is changing the way that many people connect and communicate online and should be an indispensable part of your overall marketing plan for your blogs and websites. Twitter is free to join and you can get set up with an account in a matter of just a few minutes.

Twitter has two main components. Just like social networking sites such as MySpace or Facebook, you can add “followers” and follow other people as well. They’ll receive your updates and you’ll receive theirs.

What is unique is that your messages are limited just to 140 characters, which is why some people call it a “microblogging” tool. You have to keep your messages brief and to the point.

Sometimes it’s a real challenge to get the point across in the allotted space, but it also leaves room for a lot of creativity! Coming up with ways to say what you have to say in that small space is part of the fun of Twitter. It makes you think about the core aspects of the message you are trying to convey.

Hope this helps! You can follow me on Twitter at twitter.com/EOTMintern , twitter.com/EOTMintern2, twitter.com/EOTMPR and twitter.com/EOTMpromotions

Neil Patrick Harris Tweets “D-Bag” Comment About Soap Actor — then Re – tracks

In Breaking News, Celebrity News on December 20, 2010 at 12:44 am

There are no small parts, just small…misunderstandings. Just ask Neil Patrick Harris, who called actor Eric Braeden a “D-bag” on Twitter last night.

The exact tweet read, “Eric Braeden is a D-Bag. the actor, (Robin’s dad) agreed to a cameo, then last night bailed, saying the part wasn’t ‘substantial’ enough.”

The Young and the Restless actor was slated to appear on the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, but decided to ditch the gig after seeing the size of the role.

And it didn’t take long for the name-calling tweet to reach Braeden, who turned to Entertainment Weekly to share his thoughts on it.

“I really don’t know who that fellow is. He’s a guy who stars in that series,” Braeden told EW. “It’s very unfortunate. First of all, I came back from hip surgery. I was off for three weeks. I’ve doubled my work, 30 to 50 pages a day for me, alone. Everyone knows that I’m exhausted. I was not about to appear on a show for two lines, because that’s what it amounted to.”

Braeden, who said he “truly enjoyed” his previous outing on the show, had a few words of his own for Harris.

“His choice of words bothered me,” Braeden added. “It seems to me like a young whippersnapper, having seen himself on a few covers, who’s received a few awards, is now suddenly suffering from the first signs of hubris. I’ve been in the business for 50 years. I’ve seen people come and go and I’m still here.”

But Braeden ultimately laughed off the whole situation. “If he is a worthy adversary, he’d better not cross my path. I will let bygones be bygones.”

NPH, for his part, tweeted again three hours later, “Now I feel bad for the D-bag comment. Don’t know the guy personally. I’m just fiercely protective of our show.”

Maybe it was just those new parental instincts kicking in.

The celeb also announced that the role of Robin’s dad has been re-cast by Ray Wise, “a fantastic actor who makes any part ‘substantial’. Super excited to welcome him to the family.”

Engage or DIE – The Social Media Craze

In Social Media on April 12, 2010 at 9:33 pm

Remember the days where if you wanted to talk to somebody you had to pick up a phone and call them, or how about going out to social gatherings to meet up with people and make new friends and acquaintances. Well those days seem like the stone ages compared to the new avenues we have today.

Anyone who wishes to be sociable, even the socially impaired, can take advantage of numerous social media tools that are out there. Having as many friends and contacts as you wish is now as easy as a push of a button. Whatever you want to talk about or express to the social media community at large is right at your fingertips!

Social media is also changing the way businesses market and promote themselves. There is no other low-cost promotional method out there that will easily give you large numbers of visitors, some of whom may come back to your website again and again.

If you are selling products/services or just publishing content for ad revenue, social media marketing is a potent method that will make your site profitable over time.

Those who ignore the efficacy of social media usually fall into three categories; the ones who don’t know much or anything about social media, the ones who are interested but don’t know how to use it and those who don’t believe in the value that a social media strategy can bring to any site or business. Hopefully before you finish reading my blog, I would have helped to dispell some of these feelings.

I just recently discovered link baits , a great tool to successfully getting your blogs on various social media websites like Digg and StumbleUpon, which will lead to multiple benefits for any website.

Social media is already changing the rules of the marketplace, don’t get left behind!

Think of the social news site as a platform or a soapbox. As something that gives you a chance to be heard or read, even for a brief moment of a few hours. The people who are drawn to your message will visit your site and recommend it to others.
