Conscious music may just be making it’s way back to the forefront.
Remember when it was the style to wear clothes that covered your behind and your breast? When the old school female rap artists were more about empowering young women and teaching them to value their self worth? They cared about what their sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, mothers, grandmothers and grandfathers thought when they saw them on a video or heard their music on the radio.
Fast forward to 2011 and you will find that sex and violence have hijacked not just the rap game but music as a whole. Female music artists have gone from classy sexy to soft porn stars and let’s not talk about the “video vixens”, which is enough to make our grandmothers/big mama’s roll over in their grave.
Its way over due for the conscious female artists to return with a vengeance! It’s time for the void in Hip Hop to be filled with conscious female rappers that remind us that LADIES ARE FIRST.
It’s time female artists once again rock the mic to inspire little girls to become women. Recording Artist Mama Kym aka Raptivist is back on the scene to do just that. This dynamic recording artist has managed to break the mold and use classy sexy to convey a message of girl power and she refuses to be sold out for mainstream exposure.
Join the movement of pushing conscious music to the forefront once again, this time with the “Raptivist”
