James Franco Makes His Twitter Account Private — Chris Brown Should Follow Suit

Franco’s  twitter account is still active, but is now private: “’This is my Twitter. I can do whatever I want,’” he says.

In an interview with Politico, he says: “Social media is over. Still up there. Going down. You heard it here first.”

Franco, who began Tweeting shortly before he co-hosted the Oscars with Anne Hathaway in February, explained his approach to the social media site: “My thought was ‘this is my Twitter. I can do whatever I want.’ But certain companies I work with contacted me about what I was saying.”

Since he began Tweeting, Franco famously got into a mini-spat with Oscars writer Bruce Vilanch after Vilanch criticized Franco’s performance at the Academy Awards (they have since reconciled).

In an effort to protect himself….making his account private was a great move. Chris Brown needs to follow suit! I’m just saying…

Hollywood’s brightest stars are out in force for the industry’s night of nights – the Academy Awards.

More than a billion viewers around the world are expect to watch Hollywood’s royalty sashay down the red carpet tonight.

The Fighter’s Melissa Leo, who is nominated for best supporting actress, and Winter’s Bone’s Jennifer Lawrence, who is up for best actress, were among the first to arrive.

Mila Kunis, whose film Black Swan is up for best picture, dazzled in a plunging Elie Saab haute couture dress.

Anne Hathaway looked incredible in a figure hugging scarlet gown created for her by Valentino, who hovered around to ensure the gown didn’t burst.

Anne Hathaway lands Dark Knight Rises role in the upcoming film. Hathaway, 28, will play Selina Kyle, whose other identity is Cat woman, and will join Christian Bale, who reprising his turn as Batman. Also joining the cast: Inception‘s Tom Hardy, who will play the villain Bane.
