Oscar-Nominated Actor Tony Curtis Dead at 85

Tony Curtis passed away peacefully at his home in Nevada with his wife and family.
Tony Curtis, who starred in movies such as Spartacus, Some Like it Hot, The Defiant Ones and over 38 other movies is gone forever. Curtis died peacefully at 12AM EST on September 29th while lying in bed beside his wife, he was 85 years old.
Curtis, whose career spanned over 60 years overcame an impoverished childhood that came with its share of tragedy, when he was placed in an orphanage after the death of a younger brother. Tony later battled drug and alcohol addiction.
Throughout his life he enjoyed painting and since the 1980’s it has been his second career. In 2007 his painting titled, “The Red Table” was on display in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. His paintings can also be seen at the Tony Vanderploeg gallery in Carmel, California.
