In speaking with Carla Barnes, the founder of EOTM (Entrepreneurs on the move), she shared this, “we are not trying to take anything away from the everyday workers doing their 9-5. These are hard working Individuals, Moms and Dads, Tax Payers; we love and respect their drive and commitment.  They should be rewarded. Our job; however is to empower people with the entrepreneurial spirit. The little spark that’s in all of us, it’s that very same spark I believe that helps shape our destiny, change our lives. Taking responsibility for our own future, our children’s future. “

West coast sensation Tipse goes where no rapper has ever gone before

In Breaking News on September 16, 2010 at 5:45 am

Hip Hop changed the language of the American culture, social media changed the world‏.

EOTM (Press Release)

Tipse, his street team SMASH & management have maximized tenfold with social media. With over 1 million unique hits on MySpace, ranked #10 on the hip hop charts of Reverbnation in Los Angeles and shutting down shows from Nevada, Northern Cali to Southern Cali, Tipse has positioned himself to become one of hottest rappers in the game today.

At only 21 years of age Tipse is a true entrepreneur in every sense of the word, utilizing all major social media to help grow his fan base, his street team and gain respect in the hip hop genre as well as in business.

Within the past year Tipse’s street buzz has catapulted to unprecedented numbers which has helped him continue to inspire and motivate other local teenagers to join his movement. Creating one of the largest street teams on the west coast known as SMASH.

Tipse and his team have found a way to leverage social media creating a fan base so large it’s as if a major record label had given them a five hundred thousand dollar budget for marketing and promotions.

Tipse will be the new face of hip hop, bringing a whole new swag to rap, the new equalizer, giving voice to the previously voiceless, a new breed originating in the studios of Swagg Genius Entertainment.

“Young, independent, dedicated and full of swag, Tipse is a force to be reckoned with. He is one of the brightest new rap stars to watch out for this year, get him in your i pods now and impress all your friends”. Rapper Lil Zane said.

It’s fair to say, Tipse and his crew are embarking on new territory. We have long believed that fan generated content had the capacity to change the promotional landscape of the industry. Tipse and SMASH are showing us just how it can be done. We are taking notes, it’s sure to be a great read.

Club La Vida NOT Loco

In Review on September 7, 2010 at 7:13 pm

If you enjoy Caribbean atmospheres with a hint of Hip Hop you must check out Club La Vida in Hollywood, California on a Sunday night.

EOTM (Press Release)Sep 07, 2010 – EOTM was in the house for Jamaican Gold’s annual Labor Day Bash inside La Vida on September 5th with special guest Chi Ching Ching.

To be perfectly honest I wasn’t too enthused on going to another Hollywood Club on a Saturday night. Why? Well it’s the long lines and the infamous red rope that had me squirming. I didn’t know how long my crew and I would be standing in the media line waiting on the promoter that had invited us out. However, it appears club owners and promoters have it figured out at La Vida because we were inside within ten minutes.

The venue has a beautifully lit courtyard with large fire pits decorated with colorful rock coals that do wonders on a chilly night.

Between her rugged mountains and sun drenched beaches, emerald jungles and impossibly blue Caribbean waters, the island of Jamaica is both a study in contrasts and a living lesson in geography as was La Vida and our Jamaican Gold experience.

We were immediately taken in by the open layout and bars, three inside and one outside. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing with a variety of music playing on a beautiful white plaster arched courtyard with the nostalgia of a Montego Bay. Complete with shade, sun and fire if weather calls for it. Couches and lounge chairs made outside seating even more appealing.  There was complementary, colorful and delicious chips and salsa. The Restaurant serves authentic Mexican which our selections were delicious. The shrimp and calamari was delicious. Truly, the only thing missing was the white sand and if I may add…. Taye Diggs.

If you enjoy the soul of Jamaican resort type atmospheres, authentic Mexican and the best of reggae with a hint of hip hop connect with Jamaican Gold today.

Lil Zane Surprises contestants at BET 106&Park Auditions for Blaze the Stage in Los Angeles

In Clients and Events on August 2, 2010 at 12:32 am

July 31, 2010 (EOTM PR) West Coast Blaze the Stage, contestants competed for the chance to perform on BET’s 106&Park Wild Out Wednesdays. Pat Charles himself, head writer of the show, flew all the way in from NY to sit on the judge’s panel at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It was already a climatic and jittery experience for the performers in front of Pat Charles, BET’s top executive, but when Lil Zane hopped on stage exuding years of experience, high energy, and an octane performance, the bars were raised dramatically.

Zane rocked the stage with a new up and coming west coast artist by the name of Tipse, who kicked off their performance with the throwback cut, “Anywhere”, then later hit the crowd with a track off of his new mix tape, titled, “Put it in my Lap”.

At the closing of the program Zane was brought back on stage to enlighten the 106&Park hopefuls with advice on the industry and helped the rising stars to stay motivated, grounded, and to never give up on their dream. “Rehearse, rehearse, and rehearse, learn this business front to back and keep it original”, was the nugget Zane shared with the teens before walking off the stage.

Lil Zane most recently launched his new tour, “The Follow me Tour”, his return to the music industry. For the past couple years Zane has had roles in “A Day in the Life”, “Cold Case”, “Motives”, “The Fighting Temptations”, “Dr. Doolittle 2”, “Finding Forrester” and more.

Indie Artists Jump on the EOTM Brand Wagon

In Branding on March 16, 2010 at 3:21 am

EOTM understands what it takes to promote your music/image successfully. We have done it for years, promoting ourselves!! Allow us to customize a package to represent your music with a professional image!

EOTM Radio is best known for giving indie artists a means to highlight their music to a global audience. Most of the artists EOTM features sells their music primarily by touring, through their websites and EOTM Radio.

EOTM has recognized that corporate executives are increasingly looking for new sounds to help create an image for a brand, whether it’s a product, a store or a show. It could be music from an emerging artist, or something old and hip, whatever it is, it is likely to be cheaper than the high price of licensing a hit song from a major record label.

The result is that corporate music buyers are changing the economics of being an independent musician. The once-standard dream of a record deal and radio play is giving way to the reality of restaurants, retailers and automakers scouring the industry for little-known music that can lend mood and edge to marketing campaigns.

New artists have realized that the big labels really are not doing the job anymore, and if [the artists] can just get their music out, people will stumble onto it and then the buzz starts.

Carla Barnes, president of EOTM Radio & Media, said licensing represents “a growing and significant portion of any indie label’s revenue portfolio.” Selling music to advertisers used to be taboo among many sellout-conscious artists, but today “these commercial branding opportunities are being viewed much more positively,” she said.

While there is no comprehensive data to show how much money such artists are making from licensing, EOTM said it can be seen in any small music label’s revenue stream.
